Half Term Horror

With half term horror looming and Halloween just around the corner, I thought I’d do my version of Michael Jackson’s Thriller to demonstrate just how I’m feeling about a week at home with the kids.ย  Cue music (screaming optional):

It’s close to Friday and something evil’s lurking after school

After the weekend, you think of it and it almost stops your heart

You try to scream but terror takes the sound before you make it

You start to freeze as horror looks you right between the eyes

You’re paralysed

‘Cause this is half term, half term week

And no one’s gonna save you from the stress about to strike

You know it’s half term, half term week

You’re finding stuff they like in all weather, weather conditions

You hear the door slam and realise that there’s nowhere left to run

School is over and now you’ve got to show the kids some fun

You close your eyes and hope that you can find something good to do, mum

But all the while you hear the clock ticking loudly from behind

You’re out of time

‘Cause this is half term, half term week

There ain’t a cold snowball’s chance in hell of getting any peace, mum

Half term, half term week

You’re finding stuff they like in all weather, weather conditions

(Spoken) Bored children call, they squabble, scream and fight at every moment

There’s no escaping the hell of soft play centres this time

(They cost a prime)

The tall tariffs are a crime

They’re out to get you, there’s expense closing in on every side

It will possess you, need a miracle to get that sun to shine.

Now is the time for us mums and dads to all stick together, yeah

All through the week we’ll stop each other climbing up the walls

We will share wine

‘Cause this is half term, half term week,

And by the end of it we’ll allร‚ย have gone bat-shit crazy

Half term, half term week

So let’s try not to cry and share a

rocking, dribbling, slobbering half term week

‘Cause this is half term, half term week,

Mums, we may all lose our minds for good but we will make it

Half term, half term week

So let’s all drink some wine and share a rocking, dribbling, OW! ๐Ÿ™‚
